The perspective of a modern marriage

They say every girl dreams about a perfect wedding. We plan who will be invited, how tables will be served and, definitely, we work hard on designing every little Swarowsky diamond on a future wedding dress that will no doubt be out of this world. When a girl turns 18, everyone in the family starts looking for that right one who will make their daughter/ sister/ niece the happiest woman in the world. Anyway, getting good education seems to be reasonable at this time so no one actually bothers our girl till the age of 25. Oh, that's the time when every member of the family (even little baby sister Carry who can't even articulate a word yet) keeps pointing at wedding dresses in the stores' windows. There can be no excuse for a mother who wants only the best for her child. Mind, that "all the best" here means not a breath-taking career and a brand-new penthouse office, but a diamond ring on your finger, stumpy husband and a bunch of kids by your side. Awesome picture, ha? The worst thing happens when you are 30, you are a successful businesswoman, sitting in a luxurious leather armchair chewing your Birthday cake and planning to go to the Caribbean just for a change. So what's that bad about all this you will ask? Well, there is just a tiny remark that certainly cannot destroy your vacation – you get a call from your Mom who won't stop sobbing and saying that she was not destined to see her grandchildren. Now you have 12 wonderful days on a sunny beach with just one thought – "What's wrong with me?" Enjoy! You wonder along the coast and for the first time in many years you analyze not the market profit but your own life. To be honest, you can see absolutely nothing wrong with your life and come up with the decision that there is definitely something wrong with Mom's interpretation of a happy woman. Let's just admit that there is no clear definition who a happy woman is. It would be much easier if we could open a dictionary, find the necessary column there and study the inevitable rules. Still, it does not happen like that in a real life though. One woman is happy to be a housewife and take care about husband and kids, another lady is an example how to combine terrific career with the household, the third one takes work for a devoted husband and new projects for a beloved baby. Nowadays, women tend to get married later than their mothers. They spend more time at picking the perfect one and then have to make sure he is more or a less perfect, as a smart woman knows there can not be an ideal man out there. So what makes modern females think twice before getting married and is traditional attitude towards marriage still alive? Let's take a closer look at this problem.
